Dog Bandana (Small, Medium, Large)
This joyous multicolor, turquoise-based fabric has us thinking about sweet and carefree times with our best friend and the adventures that await us both!
This fabric was woven in San Marcos La Laguna, which is a village on the western shore of Lake Atitlán. It is a small village of 2200 inhabitants with Kaqchikel-speaking indigenous Mayans as the majority of the population. The local Mayan weavers are famous for their brightly colored fabrics.
Daydream Dog Bandana and Face Mask
The Bandana
These casual bandanas begin their journey as new fabric that was hand woven by members of a women’s cooperative in the highlands of Guatemala. We work with the artisan weavers to bring their art and imagery to the fabrics we use. We then take these custom fabrics to a small family-run sewing shop outside Chichicastenango, Guatemala to transform them into wearable fun for your pup. By setting their own wages and prices, weavers and sewers have the opportunity to express their creativity while carrying on the tradition of weaving and earning a fair wage.
The Mask
These richly colored face masks begin their journey as new fabric hand woven by members of a women’s cooperative in the Guatemalan highlands. We work with these artisan weavers to bring their art and rich imagery to the fabrics we use. Custom fabrics are then sent on to a small family-run sewing shop outside Chichicastenango, Guatemala, where they cut, fold and sew to transform the material into a vivid, functional mask for you to wear. By setting their own wages and prices, weavers and sewers have the opportunity to express their creativity while carrying on the tradition of weaving and earning a fair wage.
